Dear Lady Greyjoy,
As we both know the state of the kingdom as I write these lines, and you read them, allow me to lose no time in courtesies. We have both too much of challenges to face to lose our time in playing dumb politics, and as I have come to hear, you do not care about it anyway.
My letter to you might seem desperate. Maybe it is. But as two women leading their people and refusing to see the Targaryens create additional chaos and horrors in those lands, I do write to you to seek alliance and help.
Maegor Targaryen has divided the Vale for moons now, and I am presently trying to resist his will of force and my own son's stupidity but my ressources are, alas, not infinite.
I would rather die than let this beast rule the lands of my parents and my ancestors, I believe it is the same for you.
And now that Visenya Targaryen is dead, her son will probably be more a threat than ever, especially to us who refuses to bend the knee and spit on our pride and honor.
I would use the strength of your fleet to put an end to the rebellions in the Vale and secure my region, while the Cruel deal with the mess in King's Landing. I would then use my own men to secure your island as well in return.

Please forgive my terrible handwriting, my intendant has been working day and night and I thought it was best to reply to you myself. We do not have the time for that, I agree, and it was never my forte to begin with. I do not practice the art of lies and flattery either, my island would be in deep shit if I did, so please, once again, forgive the hardness of my words.
There is no desperation in war, only necessities, my Lady. I’ll gladly provide you my help in an alliance against the Usurpers who’ve been burning and killing very much alive people like they do not care.
I’ve heard your struggles with that monster, and I must admit I fear is fire more than any other foes because I’ve heard he had a deep hatred of our kind, especially if those in situation of power like the Queen Alysanne and Alarra were. I’ll help you bring some peace to your land with the ships and people I have left from the relentless attacks of the Velaryon against us.
Do you think you could wait for three to four moons? This is as fast as we could reach Runestone by pushing through the Blue Fork to the Bay of Crabs. As for your son, what do you think would break his temper? As for my Islands, it is more gold and trade that we covet, I do not think your people would flourish under our constant pouring sky. But if it is freedom you seek, maybe we could ride together to independance from the Targaryen. The North did it. Why not us?
